DSCH pusblishers catalogue and other publishers

This catalogue contains a listing of the New Collected Works of Shostakovich in 150 volumes, which DSCH began publishing in 2000.

The material published by DSCH is based on author’s manuscripts from the composer’s personal archive and other depositories and is accompanied by detailed explanatory articles written by experts describing how the compositions were composed, their special features and their performance history, as well as by academic textological comments in Russian and English and fragments of the facsimiles. The words for the vocal compositions are given in the Russian original and are accompanied by a Latin transliteration.

DSCH gives special attention to publishing the composer’s unknown, forgotten, or previously banned compositions, as well as to correcting the mistakes and inacurracies found in previous editions.

The Publishers have prepared an electronic version, available at the DSCH Hire Department, of all the orchestral compositions.

In addition to the volume editions of  New Collected Works, DSCH Publisher sis putting out additional resources relating to Dmitri Shostakovich’s heritage, in particular, separate editions of several piano, symphony and chamber compositions, various adaptations, instrumentations, and so on, as well as books and articles in the « Dmitri Shostakovich’s Archive » series.

DSCH Publishers have put out the following deluxe editions in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth : a photo album called Dmitri Shostakovich : Pages of His Life in Photographs and a facsimile of the author’s manuscript of the score of the Thirtennth Symphony. They have been awarded prizes in the main nominations of Russias’s three most prestigious competitions : the Competition of the Association of Book Publishers of Russia (Prizewinner’s Certificate in the « Publication of the Year » main nomination), the Competition of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communication and of the 20th Moscow International Book Fair (2007 highest competition prize in the main nomination « Book of the Year), and the Competition of Knizhnoe obozrenie newspaper (prize for the best artistic design – « Bibliophile »).
