It contains a detailed record of all events of Dmitri Shostakovich’s life know at present and takes into account a great number of previsouly unpublished documents, including manuscripts hitherto considered lost and newly discovered music drafts.

A Chronical of the Life and Works of Dmitri Shostakovich eliminates errors of previsous researches, separates fact from legend, and etablishes a definitive chronology of Dmitri Shostakovich’s output.
